The canine unit was established by the Constable in 1989.  The unit consists of highly proficient canines trained to detect marijuana, hashish, heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine.  The canine officers are on call to assist federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.  The canine unit has been responsible for the seizure of numerous amounts of narcotics and U.S. currency and the arrest of several drug traffickers.

Citizens having information pertaining to illegal drug activity should call the Constable´s 24 hour Drug Hotline at (210) 335-4956 and/or e-mail us at .  When calling the Drug Hotline you should include the following information:

  1. Location of activity (address or description)
  2. Type of Activity
  3. Persons involved in activity, names, descriptions, etc.
  4. Days/Times of most activity
  5. Vehicle involved in activity (type, color, license number, etc.)

All calls will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.  The officers will investigate and if sufficient probable cause can be developed those persons will be arrested.
