Albert Uresti, MPA

Albert Uresti was born in San Antonio, Texas and is the oldest of eight siblings. Albert and his wife Elsie have been married for over 42 years and have three children and three grandchildren. While raising a family and working full-time, Uresti received his Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Education from Texas State University and Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio. At the same time, he quickly rose up the ranks in the San Antonio Fire Department to the rank of District Fire Chief. While working and going to school, Albert also devoted himself to his community, including its youth and Senior Citizens, as a civic leader, volunteer, and coach. Uresti’s involvement in school, youth, church, community, and sports programs has spanned over three decades. Albert has over 30 years of municipal and state government experience, including having served as a City Manager.

As the City Manager and Chief Executive Officer for various cities, Albert Uresti provided direction and leadership for the effective administration and operations of all municipal services, including the finance department. Albert prepared and submitted balanced plans and budgets of municipal services employing applicable managerial, budgeting, and accounting procedures to ensure efficient and effective utilization of the City’s resources, including its tax revenues.


To help people, to serve the business community, to provide fair, consistent, and better service for all citizens, and to make Bexar County’s Tax Assessor’s Office the Number One Tax Assessor’s Office in the State of Texas.

To serve our Senior Citizens, our Veterans, our Children, and our Disabled.

To make the Tax Assessor’s office more accessible, responsive, efficient, and customer oriented.

To increase and improve outreach programs to make citizens aware of programs and options that are available to them.

To make our website more user-friendly.

To maintain a tax office of the highest honesty and integrity.
